  1. The more I read about Shashi Tharoor and his articles the more I find him to be a perfect candidate for India’s next Prime Minister. Shashi has almost everything that is needed in today’s India, “Intellect, diplomacy, polity, focus, thinking outside of the box nature”. I think this is high time to give the reins of the future of India to a dynamic individual who will take it to the new heights.

  2. That is sheer rubbish. India has had plenty of dynamic individuals who have taken it to new heights in the past, and who will do so in the future. But Shashi Tharoor is not in their league. He couldn’t even run DPI effectively. He should stick to his writing.

  3. Give Mr. Tharoor some credit, he climed the ladder of success on his own merit, he does have a gift ,which he has made good use off.
    Good Luck…

  4. Sorry, but it’s impossible to agree that he climbed the ladder of success on his own merit — he climbed it on other people’s merit, and their coattails.
And, whenever he was tested, he did not rise to the occasion. He was, unfortunately totally predictably, another useless but ambitious profiteer — and I am sorry for that.

  5. Tharoor was a diplomat. India’s Prime Minister doesn’t have to be a diplomat! Maybe he will be well suited as the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.

  6. Tharoor was not a diplomat — he was your usual egotistic self-centered careerist ambitious UN bureaucrat. He is also a writer. His fan club should just cool it, take a deep breath, and realize
that there was just a lot of hype …
What can you really say about a guy who could dump his worthy wife for a tall blond German (and who would do almost anything to have a photo op standing next to Angelina Jolie) — and then tell the NY Times, callously, “some people just fall out of love”.

  7. On top of that, he did not know how to read people, or to judge people, and he took no brave stands in support of what would be fair, or right, or just …
so who would want him, even as Foreign Secretary?
