Now reports that Israeli police are prohibiting certain Ramadan Iftar dinners in Jerusalem

Ma’an News Agency is reporting that “Israeli authorities informed Governor of Palestinian Jerusalem Adnan Al-Huseini and the owners of the Seven Arches Hotel … that the planned Iftar feast for local leaders and dignitaries from the Christian and Muslim communities would be quashed. By the afternoon Israeli police forces imposed a closure on hotel and surrounding area. The day before Israeli police forcibly shut-down the National Theater and the Jabal Az-Zeitun Club as they attempted to host Ramadan activities”. This report is posted here.
There are not enough details in this report to explain why these Ramadan Iftar dinners are being prohibited…

(And the Seven Arches Hotel is not in the Old City of East Jerusalem, but rather it is on the Mount of Olives)
