5th anniversary – International Court of Justice Advisory Opinion on the Legal Consequences of the Construction of A Wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territory

The Advisory Opinion was a landmark — and it has been ignored.

A reminder: five years ago today, the International Court of Justice in the Hague, Netherlands, handed down an Advisory Opinion – on 9 July 2009 – which ruled that
“The construction of the wall being built by Israel, the occupying Power, in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including in and around East Jerusalem, and its associated rĂ©gime, are contrary to international law”.
